Miss Rachel graduated in 2016 with honors from Concord University located in Athens, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. As an undergraduate student, she was involved in many different organizations and clubs on campus. Rachel was the only non-science major in the chemistry club where she held office as the Community Outreach Coordinator. She was also the secretary her university’s chapter of Council for Exceptional Children. In addition to those clubs Rachel was also a member of the Vintage Appreciation Society, CU Reading Council, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Autism Speaks U.
Miss Rachel grew up as an only child, around 12 hours from Wisconsin in the tiny town of Crab Orchard, West Virginia. She moved to Middleton, Wisconsin during the summer of 2016, since her husband was accepted into UW-Madison’s PH D program in chemistry. During the summer, you can find Rachel in the outdoors where she enjoys doing some of her favorite activities such as, hiking, biking, or kayaking. However, during the winter you can spot her curled up with Maggie Mittens, which is her beloved pet cat on the couch, under blankets reading books.
Miss Rachel had grown up thinking that she wanted to go into a health-related field until she mentored elementary age students as an AmeriCorps member for a summer reading and nutrition program in West Virginia called Energy Express for 4 years. Rachel has a true passion for helping children achieve their true potentials. She worked during college at a daycare center, where she enjoyed working in early childhood classrooms. After college graduation Miss Rachel received her WI Teaching License, and taught 4 th grade. Miss Rachel loves working with PRE-K students at KELC, because students are so excited and engaged in their learning. Kids Express Learning Center appealed to her as it was such a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a rural setting, yet it was close by to everything Madison has to offer.
