MISS JESSICA R
THE VELVETEEN RABBIT
Miss Jessica is the lead teacher in The Velveteen Rabbit. She has a B.A. in Child Life Education and Spanish from Edgewood College and is a certified Child Life Specialist, having completed an internship in California where she worked with children in a hospital setting. Jessica has studied in Spain and was a lead teacher in infant/toddler and two-year-old rooms at another child care center. She has been formally working with children since 2006 and enjoys creating unique ways for her class to learn.
Jessica grew up in the very small Wisconsin town of Rosholt with two younger sisters and many cousins with whom to play. She was part of a dance company during high school and hopes to start dancing again, soon; though for now she is content to dance about with her students. In her free time, Jessica enjoys scrapbooking, baking, DIY (do-it-yourself) projects and practicing violin.
Excited to be beginning her fifth year at KELC and to be working with one-year-olds again, Jessica has lots of fun activities in mind for this school year. She is a big believer in learning through play, so she makes sure her students have plenty of opportunities to play and that her lessons are fun and engaging for her young students.
