Heather Dahl is a member of KELC's administrative team. Her work with staff enriches KELC's curricular foundations and improves the quality of children's comprehensive assessment portfolios. One of Heather's major contributions is serving as a consultant to teachers as they make plans to differentiate instruction to allow them to support children with special needs. She assists in the implementation of new initiatives and projects on the ever-evolving Kids Express Learning Center campus.
As a member of the Dahl family, Heather has been a part of Kids Express Learning Center since its inception in 1996. Throughout the years, she has served KELC as a summer camp director, Spanish teacher, classroom teaching assistant, cheerleading camp instructor and educational consultant. Upon graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with her bachelor's degree, and eventually earning her Master's degree in Education, Heather worked in several states as a special education teacher. She has taught a range of students with diverse backgrounds and needs at the primary level in New York, North Carolina, Washington and Wisconsin.
In the summer of 2014, Heather earned her doctorate from the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She currently teaches courses while helping to coordinate a teacher certification program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. At the university, she works within the Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education as well as the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The summer of 2014 was a busy one for Heather, as she married her best friend and fellow teacher, Matt, a high school science teacher. Matt can often be seen at KELC beautifying the grounds, which is one of his many passions. Heather and Matt spend many days with their little Olivia, age 9, who is an avid basketball player and who also attends Kids Express Learning Center's Summer on the Farm program.
