"Quality Education in a Rural Setting"

Kids Express Learning Center's vision is to provide the highest quality learning environment possible for children.  We believe that every child who crosses our threshold is a capable learner who can make unique contributions to the world.  Our job is to discover how each child learns best, what stimulates that child to explore the world, and to help that child develop to his or her full potential.   

Becoming a Citizen of the World

A key component of our mission is to help children learn to be responsible, contributing members of our society.  The core curriculum at Kids Express Learning Center and our related school activities are aimed at achieving good citizenship.  We do our very best to honor all of our students' cultural backgrounds and beliefs while we help them to learn to respect others.  Character development is incorporated into each classroom's curriculum.  A guiding force in much of what we do at Kids Express Learning Center has been influenced by our participation in Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots organization.  Dr. Goodall's international work and her writings remind us that hope for the future of our planet lies in the hearts and minds of the next generation. 

Becoming Well Educated

A second component of Kids Express Learning Center's mission is to challenge each child to reach his or her highest academic potential.  Play based, developmentally appropriate learning activities provide a strong foundation for children's future learning.  At the outset of each year, teachers informally assess each child's interests and abilities in the core areas of our early childhood curriculum.  Accurate measurement tools allow teachers to get to know each child as a learner, so that developmentally appropriate  lesson plans can be tailored to provide meaningful, differentiated learning opportunities for children.  Teachers plan activities to promote each child's growth in language and literacy, math, physical development, creative expression, science, social/emotional development, and health, safety, and nutrition.  Learning goals are established for each core area and teachers keep close watch on every child's progress toward mastery of those goals.

Independent Thinkers

Helping children to develop problem solving skills is an important part of our mission at Kids Express Learning Center.  Through indoor and outdoor classroom activities, children learn to think on their own as they ask questions and seek out answers.  Understanding the world they live in is important to a every child's development.
